Strawberry fuzz
I've been so involved with the drop shots that I never really used the 100f2.8 macro lens right. I figured it's about time :)
The
drop shots are ofcourse continuing all the time - although they aren't getting much better :(

Busy bee
Got my fill of flowers and bees today within a short span of 1 hour.

Linus
This handsome little pup is the reason I'm not venturing outdoors for photography these days. He's way too active and there's absolutely no way I can divert my attention away from him outdoors.

Meloncooky
As long as I was studying indoor lighting, I figured I might as well try my hand at some product placement :) This is a watermelon cookie and I liked the colors and texture.
And oh, the caption is a word play on 'melancholy' that fell flat.

Proof of concept
When I first saw
this picture on dpchallenge, I thought it would be a fun and easy shot to replicate. The pace at which I'm progressing is frustrating. I just can't seem to get that kind of a lighting and the sharpness is leagues out of what I got so far. It's a very illuminating (literally) project on indoor lighting...

Baby steps
Getting closer to what I want, but still more way to go before I get there.
2 500W Halogen lamps - $16.
5 fluorescent posterboards - $3.
The possibilities - priceless :D

Halfway there
After yesterdays failure, made more attempts at this kind of shot. Getting the lighting right for this is just so hard. I'll have to keep thinking this one. I also got a
cherry drop ok I think.

No can do
Saw
this pic on dpchallenge today and wanted to try and replicate it. Set up the whole scene and started dropping cherries into the wine glass to catch a drop shot. After about 45 minutes of fiddling around, with the date about to turn, I had to call it a night and settle for this bunch of cherries waiting on the sidelines. Oh well, some other time...

Winding up
Downtown Sunnyvale begins to shut down late night as the last revelers prepare to leave the scene

Breathless
Both literally and figuratively. I was sprinting hard to get here before the beach closed at 8 pm. It was worth it. And I'm absolutely thrilled with my 50f1.4 lens. Wish I had a 35f1.4, but this is the next best thing.
