Crown Royale

To smile or not to smile

Wanted to capture the drop reflections again. Was experimenting with how many smilies I can squeeze into the drop based on how far away the drop was from the background. This seemed optimal without cluttering up the drop too much. Wish I got this a bit more in focus.

An apple a day..

Getting closer to what I want. Thus far I thought the apple being soft was due to water distortion and I kept increasing the f-stops to get it all in focus. Turns out it's plain old motion blur. The moment I upped the shutter speed to 1/1250s it came nicely into focus.

It was dead anyway, stop the hue and cry!

A friend of mine was weirded out at my delight on hearing he had a 'zap-zap' at home. :(
And unfortunately dead bugs aren't as clean as live bugs, so you can see dust specs all over his eyes. I got one almost twice as magnified, but I liked the colors on this one.

Bug eye

Got several shots of this little monster, but this is about the only one that hides the dirty/cluttered background well. Had to use the flash - so couldn't help but get the sharp shadows.

Can't make up for Vandanas droplets, but doing my bit to ease the macro withdrawals of dp'ers

Do you think this concept will work for Dgrin challenge?

Here's another paint drop (sharper) with different colors on the inside and outside.

Even I'm getting bored of trying the same thing again and again - this'll be the last of paint drops for now. There are still a lot of ways I can improve on this, but for now its curtains. I've to come up with some other idea that can be tried indoors at crazy hours in the night for the next one week before work calms down a little!

Voyeur

I wanted to try and practice on lines and composition. The window blinds was an obvious choice, but the lines being plain vertical and horizontal, the shot looked boring. So I added a little bit of interest to the photo.
